Man, yesterday was totally {awful|terrible. I mean, it just seemed like everything that could happen wrong, did. First, I spilled my cereal all over myself right before an big meeting. Then, I missed traffic which was just a parking lot of idiots. To top it all off, my battery exploded right when I needed to make an urgent call. I swear, yesterday was like one of those days where you just want to stay in bed until it's over.

Perhaps today will be better.

Rock bottom of the Barrel

At the lowest rung of the barrel, you'll find what's left after everyone else has picked over it. It's the leftovers, the worst of the worst. Here, get lucky. It's a desperate situation, but sometimes the only place left to go.

Plans went out the window/up in smoke/down the drain and hopes were dashed like fragile glass/expensive china/delicate butterflies. It was a comedy of errors/a check here symphony of destruction/a masterclass in misfortune. Honestly, I've never seen anything like it/so bad/so utterly disastrous before.

Perhaps tomorrow will be better, but right now, it's just a nightmare/a living hell/pure agony.
